Using fascia training and strengthening exercises, we explore precise foot placement to built, stability, mobility and a clear connection to the floor. The main topics are walking, standing leg placement, and the articulation of the standing leg’s foot

We focus on posture and pelvic organization, supported by Pilates principles, to improve alignment, balance, and efficient movement. Finally, we apply what we have learned by working with a small tango combination that includes side steps, crosses, and embellishments.

We refine upper body organization and the embrace, using Pilates-based exercises to create clarity, support, and a comfortable, responsive connection. The focus is on the placement of the ribcage as well as the activation and strengthening of the back and arms.

We train core activation and breathing coordination with yoga and Pilates tools. By using the power of the center, we develop support and stability while keeping fluidity, and ease in our movements, for example in volcadas.

We deepen our understanding of dissociation through stretching, yoga, and Pilates exercises, which increase mobility, control, and precision. We focus on pivots, ochos, giros, and activating the right muscles when dissociating.

Our focus is on detailed footwork and embellishments. Targeted strengthening exercises improve agility, articulation, and the beauty of movement. We primarily focus on the free leg and its foot, examining its placement to ensure natural, free, and beautiful movement.

We analyze the range of possible leg movements, observing the hip joint's anatomy and functionality. Through Pilates and stretching exercises, we improve our agility and enhance our mobility for leg movements such as boleos and ganchos. Our goal is to dance with fluidity, stability, and power.

We start by learning the basics of classical dance, to then move on to a guided routine that integrates the whole body. In this first Tango Barre video, we focus on the fundamentals: precise foot placement, strength and mobility, as well as clear body alignment and organization. Through a series of targeted exercises, we build the technical base needed for the leg work of the Tango Barre. The basic step with the cross is one of the most popular tango dance moves. We explore a variety of embellishment options you can incorporate and experiment with.

The parada (stop) is a great opportunity for decoration. We explore a variety of embellishment options and examine the role of the embrace in communicating with the partner.

Ochos are used very frequently. Depending on the speed and length of the steps, there is a range of embellishment options available for forward and backward ochos, such as fluid and rhythmic ones.
